Cat's eye

Mixed up

I recently got some new art supplies. My new favorite things are now Gesso and Glazing medium. I have also been taking advantage of the Christmas sales at Joanne's where the scrapbook paper is on sale 5 sheets for $1! I've been using paper in my paintings along with the gesso.I hope to make some better stuff soon. This is mainly experimentation. Definitely more fun than paint alone. The finished product is so far pretty awesome!

Long Time....No Paint...

I've been away from painting for too long! I have had a few health issues but I am finally feeling better! Crocheting is taking a lot of my time...Christmas gifts everywhere! Can't wait to post pics. Tis the season for yarn and chocolate and everything else they usually mention......Here's something I did while I've been away...Another pretty lady...

Buttons & Wool

I have started making these flowers from old yarn my Grandma Snow gave me and buttons my fiance got me at a yard sale!

Girl on Fire.....

Another late night painting......

Owl Eyes

I just finished this 'painting'. I sketched the owl on canvas, went over the outline with the hot glue gun, and then used a foam brush to cover the entire thing in gold metallic paint. I think I will do a second coat to make it look more like metal. Something fun and different from what I'm used to making!

Vintage Stitches

This painting was spur of the moment. The actual sketch on canvas was awful!! I just added to it here and there and love the way it turned out. Pin-up girl meets Sally. This is one of my favorites so far! It definitely pays to just go with what you picture in your mind. Even if it is strange. It makes the best art, I think.

Lady Love

My latest painting took forever! Too many tiny dots. But I like the end result. [She kissed a girl and she liked it]

Vintage Button Inspiration

My fiance bought me a jar of old buttons at a sale in an Ybor parking lot. I was so excited! They immediately had me thinking of a girl with button eyes. And here she is!  The ocean and the sail are linen that I painted and glued to the canvas. She is totally out of proportion, as is the entire painting, but I don't care. It's from my brain, yo.

Painting the Perfectly Imperfect....

I recently started a new painting! Yes, she's green... Yes, she's missing an arm and wearing a 50's style red dress. What's not to love? I used acrylic paint and two canvases so that they can be hung askew, another imperfection. To me there's something great about painting and drawing the imperfect. It reminds me that there is beauty in everyone and everything. Even a 50's zombie with one arm....
